The collaboration of Level 3 Construction (general contractor) and Chanani Group (owner) is turning heads on one of the busiest intersections in Torrance, CA as the new Bluestem Hotel is taking form. Previously a Travelodge Hotel, this 1984 building is undergoing its first major transformation since built and will become a chic boutique hotel and the newest addition to the Ascend Hotel Collection, highlighting the local flavor of Torrance.

The 5-phase redevelopment project will consist of extensive upgrades to the interior/exterior of the existing building, site work, landscaping and the addition of a new building that will house the new lobby, coffee bar and communal space that will feature local artwork and craft beer. The new building addition also include 5 premium guestrooms with patios and an elevator. Once completed, the Bluestem Hotel will offer a total of 58 stylish guestrooms and a modern exterior design. Guest parking has been completely reconfigured adding 5 additional spaces and a new courtyard area for guests to enjoy the Southern California weather. A new driveway approach and sidewalk are also part of the project.

Owner and Operator, Neera Chanani, says she feels passionate about creating the first boutique/lifestyle hotel in her hometown and is excited about the cities rapid growth and the chance to contribute to the community and the local economy. The spirit of Torrance has been the inspiration behind the design and the overall project to offer guests the unique local experience that the city has to offer.  The final phases are underway and construction is scheduled for completion this fall.
