Level 3 Construction Tops Out La Costa Family Apartments, Advancing Affordable Housing in Carlsbad
Earlier today, Level 3 Construction celebrated an exciting milestone at the La Costa Family Apartments jobsite in Carlsbad, California: the topping out of the building’s structural framework. The event brought together our field team, subcontractors, and partners for a lunch and raffle as we marked the progress of this important community project.
CEO Ian Mahon joined the celebration to recognize the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. He raffled off several big prizes, including a cordless Makita circular saw kit. Prizes donated by Ganahl Lumber and HD Supply/White Cap added to the day’s festivities, underscoring the strong partnerships that make projects like this possible.
Situated just east of La Costa Avenue and Rancho Santa Fe Road, La Costa Family Apartments represents the next step in Carlsbad’s commitment to accessible housing. Developed by San Diego-based MirKa Investments, LLC, the project is designed to directly address the growing demand for affordable housing in North County San Diego. Once complete, the community will feature 19 thoughtfully crafted apartment homes for qualifying individuals and families, along with shared amenities that promote comfort, convenience, and meaningful connections. By combining high-quality construction with a mission-driven purpose, La Costa Family Apartments sets a new standard for affordable living in the region.
La Costa Family Apartments is Level 3 Construction’s second affordable housing collaboration with MirKa Investments in North County. Earlier this summer, we successfully delivered South River Village in Oceanside. Together, these projects reflect our shared commitment to building affordable housing that is indistinguishable from market-rate communities while strengthening families and neighborhoods across the region.
We anticipate completing La Costa Family Apartments in the summer of 2026.
