The Hotel Santa Barbara is one of Southern California’s most iconic hotels. Steeped in history and located in the heart of downtown, this property has welcomed discerning guests from around the world for nearly a century.
Over the years, Level 3 Construction has been awarded multiple renovation and restoration projects at the property – becoming a trusted partner of the hotel’s owner and operator. Most recently, we were contracted to refresh all 75 guest rooms, upgrade the lobby and reception area, modernize the commercial kitchen, and enhance the main-level bathrooms, meeting space, and fitness facility. The result is a seamless blend of contemporary comfort and timeless character that reinforces the hotel’s reputation as a landmark boutique property.
One of the most significant enhancements we made to the lobby was building an all-day bar inspired by the Roaring Twenties. Since opening, 1926 has become a favorite gathering spot for both guests and locals. It pays tribute to the Hotel Santa Barbara’s rich history while providing a vibrant new social hub. Furthermore, it underscores how thoughtful hotel construction and renovation can both honor heritage and elevate the guest experience.
